An exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior clinician, from the East Midlands, who has senior leadership experience to co-chair the East Midlands Clinical Senate.

The Clinical Senate supports commissioners to make the best decisions about the health care of the populations they represent by providing clinical leadership and advice across the region. Through their members, Clinical Senates use their extensive knowledge of local health systems to assist commissioners to put outcomes and quality at the heart of the commissioning system, promoting the needs of patients above the needs of organisations and professions.

As the Senate co-Chair, the post holder will work with their fellow co-chair and the Senate Manager who will lead on the strategic and operational development and delivery of the East Midlands Clinical Senate. The post holder will have responsibility for clinical leadership, engagement and influence in Senate activities.

Expressions of Interest Invited – Closing Date 10th March 2017

Official logoThe East Midlands Diabetes Prevention Week, which is taking place from January 16 to 22, has been set up to raise awareness of the growing Type 2 diabetes epidemic in the region.

The aim is to get people and healthcare professionals talking about the condition and understanding who is at risk.

Once those who are in danger of developing Type 2 diabetes have been identified they will be referred onto the Healthier You: NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme, which provides people with bespoke and tailored lifestyle advice.
